History of our Holocaust Torah Scrolls
An Exhibit in the Holocaust Museum

We have two Holocaust Torah scrolls, originally from Jewish communities in Czechoslovakia, on loan from the Memorial Trust. One scroll, from Holesov, is in the ark in our sanctuary and brought to life each Shabbat during Bar and Bat Mitzvah services. The other Torah scroll was written in the 1700's and is in fragile condition. It has a prominent place in our Holocaust Remembrance Center. Though the Pinkas Synagogue was noted as its place of origin, we now know that the synagogue was used as a regional collection center for scrolls from local congregations.
